How do you give a shared identity to a world that thousands of players build together? Start with the thing that holds every good community together. Simplicity.

Description

Pixels is a cozy multiplayer world where players farm, build and shape a shared landscape one tile at a time. The game grew from a small community project into a studio with a full team, and it needed a brand that felt like the game itself: warm, handmade and a little playful. We created the strategy and identity for the brand, along with the design and development of the website. We worked with everyone from game designers to community moderators to make sure the brand reflected the people who make the game and the players who live in it.

A complete brand identity system

The identity runs from the logomark down to the in-game type and the merch. One pixel grid underneath everything, so a t-shirt, a sticker and a loading screen all read as the same world.

The wayfinding set in use across the game’s transit hubs, where the grid loosens up but the palette stays put.
